It's a chain gang worker! No, wait...

This past weekend, the Gator basketball team played in the Elite 8.  They didn't win, but not because Rob forgot his winner pants!

Happy Tuesday!

Spring Fever

I've been very much ignoring my blog lately.  I'm sorry, blog.

But the reality is that springtime is here and I can't be bothered to worry about things like my blog.  Or yoga class for that matter, since I took the week off last week.  Or running either, since I have decided to quit running for a while and just be a gym rat.  Hey, I pay for it, so why not?

Anyway, an update:

Our front yard is in bloom!  A yard full of irises, and the other bulbs broke the ground a couple of weeks ago, which means blooms for us in the somewhat near future.  The daisies are up too, and those are my absolute favorite.

Rob has been off work the past couple of weekends so we have been just hanging out.  We took the dog to railroad park a couple of times, he took care of the grass, I tidied up the house as long as I could stand to be in it.  I got a slight sunburn, heaven!

I went to Edie's St Paddy's day party.  There was delicious corned beef and cabbage and some adorable shamrock cookies that her (non)-boyfriend Kyle made.

Looking forward to market days starting back in less than one month!  That's the best.

Maybe one day soon I will take some pics of our happy looking yard.

Happy Spring!

A Name Anagram!

So.  I'm not on facebook anymore, so I am guessing I'm WAAAAYYY behind on this.  Anyway, someone told me about name anagrams recently and how you can get yours done on the interwebs.

Here is the website I found via the google:  http://deanjackson.dj/nameanagram/

My Name Anagram:  MEAN RISK

Rob's Name Anagram:  SMART BONER

That is all.

UPDATE:  My boss's name anagram:  BOSSY TERROR.  I am not joking.

"The Circus Elephant Has Lost Its Way"

So.  A lot of people ask me where I got the name of my blog from.  Now that I've had it a while, I guess I owe an explanation. I got it from a commercial I saw only one time on TV, and for some reason it was hysterical to me and obviously stuck with me for a while.  It's from when I was a teenager, and advertises the new James Bond movie.  I remembered it as advertising a car, which it also sort of does.
Here you have it, the origination of my blog.

Wedding Season Officially Begins/Birthday Happies!

My friends Alaina and Perk are getting married today!  I am unable to make it to the festivities because of some work obligations, and I totally wish I could be there.

I am so happy for them, hope they have a perfect day and the happiest life together.  They both certainly deserve it!

Congratulations!

In other news, I'd like to wish a very happy and belated birthday to my cousin Kaitlin!  She turned 15 yesterday.  I remembered to text her (sometimes the great thing about teens!), but I have failed at card making and her card will be late.  Anyway, I hope you had the best day, young lady (she's the one in hot pink, no wonder we get along!).

Everyone else, Happy Friday and Happy Weekend :)

Photo Fail.

This past weekend my parents came to town and I didn't take any pictures.

Friday night we went to Dreamland, because Lee had always wanted to go and I was being lazy about dinner.  It was yum!

Saturday, my mom and I had to work on a little school project that included filming her making a speech with powerpoint.  So we went to the lab and did that.

Then we went to the outlet mall for the rest of the day!  I got a new purse!

It rained.  Like maybe we should have taken an arc to the mall.

Also, my mom taught me a new christmas song (a little early, but this one is certainly banked for future use):

"frosty the snowman
was jesus christ's best friend
he stood there melting by the cross
until the bitter end."

Is my mom great or what?

That night (still lazy I guess), we went to Pita Stop for dinner.  We love pita stop.

Sunday we hung out, drove around and looked at patio furniture, and went to Chili's for chips and salsa.  I actually cooked dinner that night:  fried chicken, brown rice, gravy, roasted brussels sprouts.  My mom helped- we have fun in the kitchen.

Monday morning they left and Rob and I went to work.

We had a great weekend, like we always do when they come to visit.  But this post would have been loads better with pictures.  They're coming back in a month, so I guess I'll just have to do better :)

Happy Tuesday!

Oscar Night!

This past weekend I threw my very first Oscar Party!

Some folks put on sparkly clothes, some did not, but all had a good time!  We had food and voted on who we thought would win each category.  The winner (Joy) took home our very own "Oscar"!  Which is funny because Joy actually made the Oscar for the party.

Anyway, photos below!

A fine opportunity to break out my "Alice in Wonderland" plates from Urban Outfitters!

Edie is not into the Oscars.
But I'm pretty sure Kyle is.
So she brought the only boy that wanted to be there.

Lindsey tricked Alan into dressing up and coming to an Oscar Party, I'm sure.
But they looked real cute!

Joy went comfy but wore her fancy necklace!

Rob wanted to stay as far away from an Oscar Party as possible.
So Rosemary was my date.

Johanna couldn't trick RayRay into coming, engagement or not.
So she and Alicia were dates.

The prize for the night!
Oscar was Joy's date.

Fun times!  Hope to do it again next year!
