A double trouble birthday party

YES, everyone, we have moved to Savannah.  YES, everyone, I'm going to blog all about it. But you see, as has been the case for very many moons now, I'm running behind.  Gotta first tell you all about Harper and Tailynn's first birthday party!

We went down to Picayune, MS (a happenin' place, for those of you unaware), for a three day visit with Memere and TPa, Aunt Rikki and Uncle Colby, and Gammie and Grumps.  While there, Harper and Tailynn had a proper first birthday party.  I have to really give all the credit to Aunt Rikki as well as her bestie, Nikki Ulmer.  They planned the whole thing.  I brought presents, watermelon, homemade salsa, chips, and a gigantic pork tenderloin.  And my family.  It was a blast! Perfect timing, too, as this was the weekend before our big move to Savannah, which, sadly, is a 10 hour drive from Picayune.

Decor: Teal and Coral
Better than most of my lonely ideas.

Favors: Church mints.
Appreciate these a moment more.
Rikki burned off the tips of her fingers with glue gun so we could have party favors.

Babies:  Adorable.

Gammies:  happy.

Smash Cakes:  OMG SO DELICIOUS.
WANT WANT WANT.
Harper can't even wait til the song is over.  Tailynn is waiting for instructions. :)

Rikki says the reason my kids are so good at smash cakes is because I never let them have sugar.
This is not true, I assure you.
Either way, Em steps in to make sure the babies get it just right.

Family-baby-photobomb selfie!
(This is what we look like always.  The pictures I post on FB are a lie.)

Back at Memere & TPa's house, the kids found ways to entertain themselves.
Looks like Tye is not too sure about a lady driver.

Em shows us exactly where Tye peed in the garden.

Harper loves water more than anything else on Earth.
Spoiler:  Just wait til you see our beach pics!

Pretty sure Harper is leading this one.
Tye loves his little lady cousins.

Memere enjoys snuggle time with babies and an IPad.

On Memorial Day, we headed home.  But we stopped by Granny Massey's house for a visit.  The kids enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs, plus all the other treats that had been picked up for their spoiling pleasure.  They also had fun in the pool and we enjoyed visiting with Granny.

Em contemplates her future.  Or her past.

Harper flies planes!

Baby wranglin'.

Front porch sittin'.

We got back home four days before moving day, and had some great memories to carry us through the week.  Oh.  Who am I kidding?  Moving is always a shit show.  Stay tuned.
