A real-life conversation with my sister

Rikki:  We had a shootout in Picayune!

Me:  What?

Rikki:  We had a shootout!

Me:  Like, one person got shot?

Rikki:  No, three people.  Two of them died.

Me (still trying to figure out if it was a shooting or a shoot-out):  Did one person shoot them or were they all shooting at each other?

Rikki: Two of them were shooting at each other and one was an innocent bystander.

Me:  Did the innocent bystander die?

Rikki:  Yeah.

Me:  That's sad. Where was it?  The church parking lot?

Rikki:  No.  At the bent-can store.  They have really good chicken fingers at there at Alberts, but I haven't been back since the murders.

So, naturally I'm trying to figure out why two people were shooting at each other at the bent-can store, and simultaneously missing Mississippi because there is no place quite like it.

  1. I guess I kinda find it funny that a shooting is what caused you to think you miss Mississippi, haha.

  2. some questions. What is a "bent-can store"? Is it the same as Alberts? Near Alberts? Are the murders she references the same as the shootings, or is that different?

  3. Haha yes Greg I guess that is funny. and Sad.

    Abby:
Alberts is the bent can store. It's the place where you go if you're a college student to buy cheap groceries in bent cans and banged up boxes. Now that I'm a "scientist" I call it the Botulism station.
But you can get good cereal there for cheap.
The murders are the same as the shootings, which was why i found it funny that she called it "the murders".
