Birthday Happies!

Happy 28th Bday to my fabulous hubs!

Tonight we are cooking steak for dinner, opening a couple presents and I made him a homemade carrot cake with 3 (full-sized, not whimp-sized) layers.  Thank you, Paula Deen, you are my hero.

  3. it is pretty amazing, but after smelling it while cooking it and then while putting it together, i didn't want any. i think me and the cake need some time apart.

  4. When you next get to Louisville, that cake better be in your plans. You didn't make me any banana pudding last year and are slipping on my favorite niece scale :).

  5. you kept me too busy for banana pudding. but cake travels well, so you've left me with a good idea for making cake and assembling in your kitchen. but first i must be reinstated as favorite niece.

  9. I like the picture of Rob. It's like "oh, what, me? just chilling here, getting some sun, with my friends the zebras"
As for traveling with cake, get a cake board and box from Hobby Lobby (or a bakery, but not Publix, they just have trashy plastic domes which are kindof unstable)-makes it easy, instantly gives the impression that you are some sort of cake expert.

  10. yeah, rob is silly.
yes, that is a good suggestion! I'll do that for short trips! if possible, i will just bake the cakes and assemble there to avoid runny frosting since gary lives like 6 hours away and you know we travel with a dog. complication.
